Everest Recruitment and Services is working in partnership with the Northern Health and Social Care Trust to source a Locum FY2 Doctor in General Surgery for an urgent shift vacancy at Causeway Hospital, Coleraine, Northern Ireland.

This is a single shift position on 23 April 2026, 08:00 to 21:30, within the General Surgery department as part of the Surgical and Clinical Services directorate at Causeway Hospital.

Pay and Engagement: £33.00 per hour standard rate. Enhanced rates apply for bank holiday and on-call shifts. Engaged inside IR35. Payment via PAYE or approved Umbrella Company.

The Role: Working as a Locum FY2 Doctor within the General Surgery department at Causeway Hospital, you will provide clinical cover across surgical inpatient wards, supporting senior colleagues with clerking, ward rounds, investigations, and patient management in line with Northern Health and Social Care Trust protocols.

Essential Criteria: Full GMC registration active and in good standing. MB BCh or equivalent primary medical qualification. Minimum 4 months experience at FY2 level in General Surgery within the UK. Current right to work in the United Kingdom including valid immigration documentation if applicable. Valid medical indemnity insurance through MDU, MPS or MDDUS. Two professional references. Full occupational health clearance including Hepatitis B, HIV and TB documentation in accordance with HSC Northern Ireland requirements.

Compliance: All candidates must complete the full HSC Northern Ireland enhanced compliance process including Enhanced AccessNI Disclosure, GMC verification, occupational health clearance and reference checks prior to commencement.
