About the Role

Everest Recruitment and Services is working with Halton Borough Council to recruit an experienced Qualified Social Worker for their Duty and Assessment Team.

This is a front-line role requiring a confident, experienced practitioner who can hit the ground running, manage a complex caseload and make sound, timely decisions to safeguard children and families across the Halton area.

📌 Please note: We can only consider candidates based within 45 minutes of Halton.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct initial assessments on referrals, assessing risk and need promptly
• Manage a varied caseload of children and families
• Undertake home visits and build effective relationships with families
• Work collaboratively with multi-agency professionals to safeguard children
• Produce high-quality assessments, reports and court documentation
• Respond swiftly to duty referrals ensuring timely interventions

Essential Requirements

• Qualified Social Worker (Degree or Diploma in Social Work)
• Active registration with Social Work England
• Proven Duty & Assessment or front-line children's social work experience
• Strong knowledge of child protection, safeguarding and social work legislation
• Ability to manage a complex caseload to a high standard
• Own car for work purposes
• Enhanced DBS (we can assist with processing)
• Must reside within 45 minutes of Halton
• Right to Work in the UK
