Everest Recruitment and Services Ltd is recruiting for experienced Chefs to join a care setting in Colchester, Essex on an ongoing basis. We have three positions available with an immediate start for the right candidates.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Chef with care or healthcare catering experience to work in a rewarding environment, preparing nutritious and high quality meals for residents on a flexible ad hoc basis.

THE ROLE

You will be responsible for planning, preparing and cooking meals for residents in a care setting, working to Food Standards Agency regulations and the highest standards of food hygiene and safety. The role involves day shifts and weekend shifts on an ad hoc basis to cover operational requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

Planning, preparing and cooking meals for residents to a high standard Preparing modified texture foods in accordance with IDDSI guidelines Ensuring full compliance with Food Standards Agency requirements at all times Maintaining a clean, safe and hygienic kitchen environment Following food safety and hygiene procedures throughout every shift Working flexibly to cover ad hoc hours as required by the service

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The following qualifications and experience are required for this role:

Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate — essential IDDSI Modified Food training certificate — essential Previous experience in a catering environment — preferably care or healthcare setting Knowledge of Food Standards Agency regulations Ability to work day shifts and weekend shifts on a flexible basis Strong attention to detail and commitment to high standards of food preparation Ability to work independently and as part of a team
