Everest Recruitment and Services Ltd is recruiting on behalf of a local authority client in Surrey for an experienced Team Manager to lead a Children's Family Safeguarding team based in Weybridge.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced children's social work manager to take on a senior leadership role within a well-established safeguarding service, managing a team of qualified social workers and practitioners to deliver outstanding outcomes for children, young people and families.
THE ROLE
You will be responsible for managing and developing a geographically based family and adolescent safeguarding team, providing professional leadership, clinical supervision and operational management to a team of up to six practitioners. You will work within a strengths-based, motivational practice framework, addressing complex issues including parental mental health, substance misuse and domestic abuse.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing the operational effectiveness of the team including workload allocation and prioritisation Providing reflective, evidence-based supervision to social workers and practitioners Leading on Public Law Outline processes, Legal Planning Meetings and court proceedings Ensuring all case records, assessments and plans are maintained to the highest standard Building and maintaining strong relationships with legal services, courts and partner organisations Deputising for the Service Manager when required Promoting the Quality Assurance Framework and driving continuous improvement
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
To be considered for this role you must hold the following:
Professional social work qualification — degree, CQSW or Diploma in Social Work (DipSW) Current HCPC registration — essential Substantial experience in children's statutory social work in a UK local authority setting Demonstrable experience of team management, supervision and staff development Strong knowledge of children's legislation, statutory guidance and safeguarding frameworks Experience of PLO, court proceedings and complex case management Enhanced DBS clearance with Children's Barred List Full driving licence and willingness to travel across Surrey
