Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

Everest Recruitment and Services Ltd is recruiting on behalf of a primary education client for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to provide afternoon classroom cover from September 2026.

This temporary assignment is initially scheduled from 7 September 2026 until 2 October 2026, with the possibility of extension depending on the client's ongoing requirements.

Working Hours

• 12:15pm – 3:15pm
• Monday to Friday
• Afternoon sessions only

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver planned learning activities under the direction of teaching staff.
• Provide classroom cover where required.
• Support pupils' learning, development and wellbeing.
• Maintain a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Promote positive behaviour in accordance with school policies.
• Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff.

Essential Requirements

• HLTA qualification or equivalent classroom experience.
• Previous experience working within a primary school.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
• Enhanced DBS Certificate on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
• Right to work in the UK.
