Occupational Therapist – Adults (Home First Team)

Location: Dorchester, Dorset

Job Type: Full-Time | Temporary (37 Hours per Week)

Everest Recruitment & Services Ltd is recruiting on behalf of one of our valued clients for an experienced Occupational Therapist to join a dedicated Home First Team supporting adults across Dorset.

This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in helping individuals regain independence, facilitate safe hospital discharges, and deliver high-quality rehabilitation and reablement services within the community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out comprehensive occupational therapy assessments for adults within community and home settings.
  • Support safe and timely hospital discharge planning.
  • Develop and implement person-centred rehabilitation and reablement plans.
  • Recommend specialist equipment, adaptations and interventions to maximise independence.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, healthcare professionals and community partners.
  • Undertake home visits across Dorset as required.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records, assessments and reports.
  • Promote independence, wellbeing and positive outcomes for service users while ensuring compliance with professional standards and legislation.

Essential Requirements

  • Degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Current HCPC Registration.
  • Minimum three years' post-qualified Occupational Therapy experience within the UK.
  • Enhanced Adults DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle.
  • Excellent assessment, communication and report-writing skills.
  • Experience within community services, hospital discharge or reablement is highly desirable.
