Everest Recruitment & Services is acting as an Employment Business on behalf of a well-established Local Authority in the West Midlands. We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join their Adult Social Care & Health team, working on the Optimal Handed Care Project.
This is a locum opportunity for an OT with expertise in manual handling, moving and handling assessments, and promoting independence through optimal handed care approaches. You will work with adults in the community, assessing needs, prescribing equipment and adaptations, and co-producing outcome-focused care plans.
Hybrid working is offered (2 days office-based, 3 days WFH), with community visits as required.
Key duties include:
- Assess needs and develop outcome-focused, person-centred OT plans
- Co-produce care and support plans where appropriate
- Provide advice on services, equipment, and support options
- Deliver and oversee reablement to maintain independence
- Prescribe and arrange equipment and adaptations
- Review and reassess support to ensure effectiveness
- Work collaboratively with professionals and agencies
- Support service users, families, and carers with guidance
- Maintain accurate case records and use IT systems
- Participate in duty, team development, and performance tasks
Contract: 13 weeks | 37 hours/week | 08:45–17:15 | Inside IR35
Rate: Competitive (PAYE, via Everest's payroll) | Start: 5/07/2026
Requirements:
- HCPC registration with valid PIN
- Proven experience in Adult Social Care, particularly manual handling and optimal handed care
- Enhanced DBS with Adults & Children's Barred List (must be on Update Service)
- Right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available)
- Completion of DfE form (mandatory – submissions without this will be rejected)
