Everest Recruitment & Services Ltd is currently recruiting for an experienced Social Worker to join a dedicated Family Help Team supporting children, young people and families across Luton.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and compassionate professional to make a real difference by delivering high-quality statutory social work services, safeguarding children, and working collaboratively with families and partner agencies to achieve positive outcomes. The role involves assessments, care planning, direct work with children and families, and multi-agency collaboration in line with current legislation and best practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess the needs of children, young people and families.
  • Complete Child and Family Assessments, statutory visits and parenting assessments.
  • Develop and implement effective care and support plans.
  • Manage a varied caseload while maintaining high professional standards.
  • Work closely with schools, health professionals, police and other partner agencies.
  • Undertake safeguarding investigations and child protection work.
  • Prepare reports, court statements and attend court proceedings where required.
  • Maintain accurate electronic case records and documentation.
  • Promote positive outcomes through relationship-based and strengths-focused practice.
  • Ensure all work complies with current legislation, safeguarding procedures and organisational policies.

Essential Requirements

  • Degree in Social Work or recognised equivalent qualification.
  • Registered with Social Work England.
  • Significant post-qualified experience within Children's Social Work.
  • Excellent assessment, safeguarding and case management skills.
  • Strong communication, report-writing and organisational abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Knowledge of UK Children's legislation, safeguarding procedures and statutory guidance.
  • Ability to undertake home visits across the borough as required.
