Everest Recruitment & Services is acting as an Employment Business on behalf of a specialist care provider in Southampton. We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Support Workers to join their team at a 15-bed facility supporting children and adults with complex physical and learning disabilities.
This is a rewarding opportunity to provide personalised, person-centred care to individuals with complex needs. The service assesses each individual's needs to create a tailored care plan that delivers the best support.
Current requirements are for ad hoc and emergency shifts, with more hours becoming available during term holidays and summer breaks.
⚠️ IMPORTANT: Accepted candidates will need to attend a 4-hour unpaid induction prior to starting.
Key responsibilities:
- Support children and adults with complex physical and learning disabilities
- Deliver personalised care in line with individual care plans
- Assist with daily living activities and community outings
- Work collaboratively with the care team and other professionals
- Follow CQC regulations and care home policies
- Maintain accurate records of care provided
Contract: Ad-hoc / Temporary | Flexible shifts | Start: 30/06/2026
Rate: Competitive (PAYE)
Requirements:
- Up-to-date Mandatory Training Certificate (all modules)
- Epilepsy Awareness Training (Essential)
- Oliver McGowan Training (Essential)
- Autism Awareness (Essential)
- Moving & Handling Practical Certificate (Essential)
- Enhanced DBS with Adults & Children's Barred List (must be on Update Service)
- Right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available)
- Two written references (including most recent employer)
- Full employment history document with explanations for gaps
- Overseas Criminal Record Certificate (or risk assessment)
- Compassionate, reliable, and professional approach
- Experience in a similar setting (Essential)
